Port Fairy:

At the end of September I went for a small getaway to Port Fairy.
Here is part of the adventure in photos:

Anthony taking a nice picture of the light house, we walked an hr trail to get to it.

i liked the tones and textures

a black crow in flight

on the way to the light house, it was a bit overcast that day

we made a new friend, this cat (charlie) followed us to our room, sat on our laps and enjoyed pats.
Then he stayed at our door all night till morning. He had the weirdest sounding meow.
(he lives at The Stag)

Say hello to something cute today!!

I love my little white lamb with its cool baby blue scarf.
It is actually a key ring, I don't want to get it all ruined so I keep it sitting on my bench in the design room with all my other white things!
It was purchased in New Zealand 2009.

This is a piece of artwork I finished while taking lessons with Susie Clark at The Little Goat Gallery.
I really enjoyed the 6 weeks, always looked forward to winding down from a busy day.
This is one of my favourite pieces from Susie's 'Just Do' exhibition.

puppie clothes of the day:

Oh this is just adorable, if I could put Daphni Olive in this and wear my coat that's similar we would look like the dog and owners in 101 Dalmatians opening scenes.

not that I'm getting married anytime soon BUT this is defiantly going to be worn by my furry babies when I walk the aisle!

Paper Art of the day:

A little something I found and wanted to share, it was taken in Melbourne!

i feel like icecream:

It's beginning to warm up, yahoo. (except today it rained alot!) I was all "awww, I have to be inside on a day like this...but it began to pour down and I was then thinking thank goodness I'm in here!"
SO I have been feeling like ice cream a bit lately (due to the weather), although the picture above isn't a real ice cream it is pretty cute and maybe lighter on the sugar and carbs!
Check out the source!

it's a book / Lane Smith

I was shopping for a lovely ladies birthday and also a new addition to the world (one of my great friends just had a beautiful baby girl, yay) when I spotted this funny kids book 'Its a Book by Lane Smith'.
I think it is very cute and funny and want to buy it to read and keep.
Check more out about it here!

paper goods:

Relaxing for a moment on the couch the other day, I was looking through the latest edition of 'Inside Out' magazine and came across this retro style stationary by 'Lox + Savvy'. Check it out!

Game on:

Have any of you played City Monopoly?
It is so much better than the original, I believe once you have gone City you won't go back.
You play with millions, make deals with your players and if your into the detail the markers (you know fighting over which one you will be, e.g. "I'm going to be the dog" or " I'm the wheel barrow") well they have city based markers e.g. paint can, animal basket etc. Now I want to play again! Such a loooong game but if you can endure you will enjoy!

where LOVE is:

I received this email some time ago now,
(brought tears to my eyes)
Walter Beau's passing reminded me about it.

(image was attached to email - I tried to find the original source
but found a few people have come to the same point as me!)

Email:
It is not known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service..

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies..' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven.
Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by..
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

Love, God

blitz time:

do I go, do I go? I can't decide!
So to help put an outfit together by tomorrow night I checked out some makeup that I could do to re-create the 60's, 70's or 80's! In the growing town of Mt Gambier we annually have an event held by 96.1StarFM radio called 'The Awesome Blitz" where guest dress in anything from the 60's, 70's or 80's!

Below are my makeup inspirations and pictures I thought were pretty!

(sorry i lost the source for this image)
it reminds me of katie fox's makeup

Gadget #2 for the day:

I don't know what it is today, I keep finding amazingly cool inventions!
Above we have a camera lens mug (yep, WOW), available for purchase here.
If you love your photography I know this will be on your Christmas wish list this year, as it's defiantly going to be penciled in on mine! :)

Lissy Elle:

I am inspired. The images from this ladies site 'Fubiz' are amazing. Enjoy!

blinkers!

so today I made a purchase of a yakkay helmet (yay, very excited, can't wait to ride around with that on my head), while I had a few minutes left on my lunch break I discovered this convenient accessory for bikes....a wireless blinker (wow) known as 'spooklight'. I really want one as my balance while indicating with my arm is a little unsteady at the moment and we're in the 21st century so why not have a cool gadget on my bike!

but wait there's more......you can charge your phone while on the run, so if your battery is running a little low on your iPhone (as pictured) you can give it a quick charge and keep going on with your day! (nice)

Dad.

When I think of my Dad so many things/memories come to mind. I see a jolly face and happy man with a big huge heart. I see a hard worker, go get'er, on the ball man that is there when you need him. A patient, smart guy with many talents, words and wisdom. That's my Dad & I love him. Happy Fathers Day!

Here's a little family favourite of Dads.
The one thing that makes this his favourite shot, (isn't the fact all us kids have gathered around him to be cheeky) but Mum saw an opportunity to grab the camera and capture us. (It definitely looks like we were on our way to bed and chose not to be there yet! how cute were we!)

R.I.P Walter Beau

26/12/2009 - 02/09/2010
Sadly my baby boy passed away Thursday night unexpectedly.
Due to his explorer personality he found some snail bait and thought it would be fun to chew the box up and taste a little. He was gone when I found the poor boy. (so many tears) I was hoping for a miracle that he would begin breathing again but it was his time to go, 250 days was just too short a life!
+ + +
Walter Beau you brought so much joy to my life, taught me so much and made me realise I have natural motherly instincts to care too much. You will never know how much you were loved my baby boy.
I loved your golden locks
your hazel eyes,
your wagging tail,
and that you ate snails,
I loved to see you run free,
catch the ball,
you were loved by all...
especially me.
Rest up and I will see you again one day, I will let you lick my feet and jump up hello.
x o mummy
